Coach & Team Manager Code of Conduct

Version 1.0 · Effective 1 December 2025 · Applies to SIYBO 2026 (14–16 August 2026)

Important: By submitting a team registration for SIYBO 2026, the registering organisation, head coach, all assistant coaches and the team manager named on the registration agree to be bound by this Code. SIYBO 2026 is sanctioned by FIBA and co-organised with Sport Singapore. This Code complements, and does not replace, the FIBA Internal Regulations, the official SIYBO Tournament Handbook and applicable Singapore law.

1. Who this Code applies to

This Code applies to every person registered with the team in any official capacity, including but not limited to:

4. Anti-discrimination and inclusion

SIYBO 2026 brings together teams from more than 18 countries and territories.

SIYBO does not tolerate discrimination or harassment based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or socio-economic background.

Comments, gestures or conduct that demean, intimidate or exclude another participant on these grounds may result in disciplinary action, including suspension, expulsion from the venue or removal from the tournament.

SIYBO live-streams games and produces photography, broadcast and highlight content for tournament-related purposes.

By registering for SIYBO 2026, the registering organisation and team confirm that all necessary parental or guardian consents relating to player participation, photography, filming and live broadcast have been obtained in accordance with applicable laws and regulations in their home jurisdiction.

Personal data collected by SIYBO will be handled in accordance with applicable Singapore data protection laws.

Team officials may not film or photograph inside locker rooms, medical areas or any other non-public/private area of tournament venues.

Photography or filming of players who are not members of your own team is restricted to the field of play and public competition areas. Close-up photography of another team’s players outside gameplay should not be conducted without the consent of that team’s manager.

Personal live-streaming from benches, locker-room-adjacent areas or other restricted tournament zones may be prohibited by SIYBO.

Public statements made by team officials about the tournament, opponents, officials, hosts or participants must remain respectful and consistent with this Code. Abusive, defamatory, inflammatory or threatening social media content may result in disciplinary action.

8. Compliance with tournament rules

All games are played under official FIBA rules together with the youth-tournament adjustments published in the SIYBO 2026 Tournament Handbook, released no later than 30 days before the event.

Breaches of this Code may result in disciplinary action determined by the SIYBO Disciplinary Committee, including:

Decisions of the SIYBO Disciplinary Committee are final and binding for the duration of the tournament.

If you witness or experience conduct that may breach this Code — including any safeguarding concern involving a minor — report it as soon as possible.

This Code shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Singapore.

Any dispute arising from or relating to this Code or participation in SIYBO 2026 shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
